The Tim Project

Tim Prummer grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho.  He was raised with a brother and two sisters and had the love and support of his parents, siblings, and his community.  He was very involved and successful as a runner in Sandpoint High School Cross Country and Track & Field.  He was a team captain, a leader, an encourager, and a friend.  He had an amazing sense of humor and desire to help others who were less fortunate.

But for many years, from the time he was a small child, Tim was hindered by his brain.  Tim was an amazing thinker, but he struggled academically, experienced sleep problems and anxiety, and had difficulty maintaining the mental focus he needed.  He often said, “You don’t know what it’s like to live inside my brain” as his struggle increased in his early twenties.  He began using alcohol and drugs to calm the noise, reduce stress, and help with sleep.  But ultimately, in November of 2022, Tim died of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 28.

The Tim Project has been established so that others with drug and alcohol addictions can be provided with the resources Tim didn’t have. Tim’s family believes he would still be here if they could have gotten assistance for his brain.  They believe brain therapy is the missing piece that would have truly placed Tim on the path to recovery.

How Does North Idaho Neurotherapy Help?

NIN’s initial consultation and assessment process begins with a meeting. We get to know our clients and determine the client’s needs and expectations of therapy. This includes explaining our process and possible solutions, as well as answering any questions.

The next steps are a QEEG (a brain map), followed by an assessment of the recorded data. The assessment process incorporates multiple computer-based applications that model and image the data, allowing us to study the brain.

The assessment of these results also helps us to determine balance, connectivity, power, and functionality. We create a well-rounded picture of the client’s brain and how it’s been conditioned to function. Factoring in all these elements leads us to establish customized treatment protocols for each client.

The application of these protocols is called Neurotherapy and can be delivered in several ways at NIN. Often, this will involve a combination of the multiple modalities that we have available. Some of these modalities are neurofeedback, neuromodulation, AVE training, and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) training. When needed, these sessions are complemented with a variety of talk therapy interventions.

Levi Project

Helping the Autistic Community

The Story of Levi,

As of 2023, Levi is 16 years old. He was adopted at 8 months old and diagnosed with moderate autism at 2 years old.  Levi has had lots of therapy over the years. When I was asked if I wanted to try Neurotherapy on him, I refused. Levi is God’s gift to me, and I didn’t want him “changed”.

After about a year of thinking on it, and being assured that his personality would not change, I decided to give Neurotherapy a try.

Now, 8 months (1x a week) into therapy, the results I’m seeing are amazing!

Levi is talking in sentences instead of one-word utterances. He can answer questions and is showing more emotion than he ever has.

Levi has a tendency to pace and be in his own world, in order to calm himself, at home and at school. He is now more regulated and does not pace as much. Levi is able to attend to tasks for longer periods of time, transition to new activities quicker, and now enjoys being among family and peers.

In the past, Levi did not take redirection easily. He would usually respond by taking clothes off and throwing his shoes. This has only happened three times since therapy began.

Levi has come such a long way because of weekly therapy. I cannot wait to see where he is in another 8 months!! Levi’s wonderful personality continues to shine through!

             ~ Written by Levi’s Mom

Levi was adopted by a wonderful and loving mother. His birth mother used drugs and alcohol while pregnant and the effect on Levi was significant. He was diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum and has struggled with “normal” life situations. However, Levi maintains a sweet attitude and is loved by his family.

Levi’s adoptive mother arranged for him to receive Neurotherapy with NIN, a simple and well-tolerated Neuro training for the brain. Neurotherapy has helped Levi’s brain and he has increased communication, social skills, and the ability to focus and hold attention. Reports from his teachers indicate significant improvement.

NIN’s initial consultation and assessment process begins with a meeting. We get to know our clients and determine the client’s needs and expectations of therapy. This includes explaining our process and possible solutions, as well as answering any questions.

Neurotherapy for the Levi Project specifically serves autistic clients. It utilizes a protocol that trains the brain to function in a healthy balance. This process communicates to the brain in the brain’s own language (frequencies) and is calming for the client.

As a participant in the Levi Project, Autistic clients will receive Neurotherapy. Like with Levi’s therapy, our goal is to improve functionality in everyday living. During a session, out clients can color, play nonviolent, non-stimulating games, or watch a video.
